Humidification preventing a fire caused by a static electricity spark
Localized humidification approach with AKIMist® "E" Dry Fog Humidification System mitigates a risk of a fire seriously damaging a facility and endangering operators' safety.
Benefits
Fire prevention
Humidification prevents static electricity from building up in a gravure printing process, which causes sparks at the ink pans further leading to a fire.
Localized humidification
Maintaining an adequate humidity level across an entire gravure printing floor is unrealistic because ventilation systems there continuously exhaust a large volume of indoor air. Spot humidification approach, direct spray of Dry Fog from a close distance towards the ink pans where humidity is needed without wetting the machine and the surroundings, economically and effectively increases local humidity.
What Is Dry Fog?
Dry Fog that AKIMist® "E" Dry Fog Humidification System produces is an ultra-fine and uniform fog with a mean droplet diameter of 10 μm or less, which doesn't wet the objects it touches.
Small droplets rebound from an object, but large droplets burst and wet the object. Dry Fog droplets are so fine that they do not burst or wet the objects it touches.
Dry Fog therefore can be directly sprayed from a close distance to a space where you can locally humidify without worrying if things get wet.

Energy-saving humidification system
Compared with steam humidification systems, direct spray humidification that lowers room temperature by 2 degrees C helps reduce cooling load on air-conditioners and CO2 emission.
