Livestock Farming Business

Achieving a society beneficial for producers
and consumers by establishing a friendly environment for livestock

Overview of the business

We are working to improve the yield and quality of food products like meat, milk, and eggs from livestock in order to stabilize and expand livestock businesses. Water and chemicals are turned into a fog and sprayed in barns to help manage the health of livestock such as cows, pigs, chicken, horses, and sheep, providing measures against heat stroke, dryness, and odors. At the same time, this reduces the burden on workers and improves work environments.

We have been providing our spray nozzles broadly in the livestock industry. We developed a spray nozzle for mist cooling equipment in the 1980s, the KB series still sold in this industry, and went on releasing various products such as a vehicle disinfection system, a human disinfection system, and rooftop watering equipment.

A major turning point occurred with the spray nozzle that we exhibited at Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan, as a solution to the heat island effect. As solutions to global warming are required, this nozzle received very positive reactions because it produces fog with drastically finer droplets compared with conventional mist cooling nozzles without causing wetting, and could generate the fog using extremely low energy without discharging exhaust heat in line with the concept of the exposition.

In the next year, 2006, our cooling system for people became popular across the country. This is the mist cooling that we often see in the summertime nowadays. We thought that such spray nozzles were needed for the livestock industry in addition to for humans, so we developed a product that solves problems particular to this industry, such as impacts of water quality and dust, durability, and maintainability.

Then, the nozzle and system that we developed, which produced a fog completely different from conventional mist cooling that had been the mainstream in the livestock industry, were being introduced to dairy farms nationwide; beef cattle farms for such as Tajima, Matsusaka, Kobe, Omi, and Miyazaki Beef; pig barns, chicken coops for layers and broilers, and training stables for G1 racehorses. We are now adding functions such as humidifying, chemical spraying, automated control, and linkage to IoT to this fog, making it not only for cooling, to promote its widespread adoption as core equipment for the next-generation livestock industry.

Creating a win-for-all society: for livestock, producers, and consumers

The goal of this business is to contribute to the livestock industry, but our primary mission is to contribute to society with fog. Therefore, we place importance on animal welfare and consider a win-for-all society: for the livestock, producers, and consumers, to be the way it should be.

The reason that animal welfare, which is not animal protection, is important is because the well-known companies at the top of the livestock industry streamline their businesses and reduce waste as much as possible while also investing heavily in the health of their livestock. In the barns, the companies pursue stress free conditions through various efforts such as always providing a clean environment and fresh air, light that resembles natural light, relaxing music, comfortable temperatures and humidity, and suitable space for feeding.

This ultimately results in better profit. Creating an environment that help livestock maximize their performances out of their original specifications boosts their moods, improves product quality, and increases product yield. Besides visible sales, it also greatly reduces disease, the need for emergency shipments, and death, resulting in improved work environments that provide more time and mental relief to employees.

Society also faces various risks such as worldwide distribution delays due to climate change, epidemics, and conflict. In this context, a stable production and supply of food provides significant merits for consumers. We will continue to work closely with the livestock industry in order to achieve this win-for-all society using our unique fog.
