Basics of Spray Nozzles | Hydraulic Nozzles: Understanding Performance Tables and Model Numbers

What are Hydraulic Spray Nozzles?
Hydraulic spray nozzles atomize and spray liquid using a high-pressure pump.
For more information, please refer to our FAQ page and product catalog.
How to Read the Performance Table
The specifications of the spray nozzles are detailed in the performance tables on each series page, including spray flow rate, mean droplet diameter, and more for each nozzle model number.
(Spray flow rate is referred to as spray capacity in our catalog.)
Please refer to the explanation below.
Hydraulic Spray Nozzle Model Number Structure
For our hydraulic spray nozzles, the basic model number is structured as follows:
“Thread Size & Type” + “Series Name” + “Spray Angle Code” + “Spray Capacity Code” + “Material Code”
Example: 1/4M VVP 115 15 S303
Thread Size & Type: R1/4 *1
Series Name: VVP
Spray Angle Code: 115 *2
Spray Capacity Code: 15 *3
Material: Stainless Steel 303 *4
*1 Refer to the page below for Thread Size and Type:
Basics of Spray Nozzles | Thread Size and Type, Diagonal Dimension Calculation
*2 Most full cone spray nozzles and solid stream spray nozzles do not include a spray angle.
*3 For solid stream spray nozzles, instead of the spray capacity code, the orifice diameter code may be specified.
*4 The standard and optional materials available for nozzles are shown in the material section of each nozzle series, using the material codes listed below:
